Pelham Medical Center Expansion

A $33.5 million expansion for the Pelham Medical Center located on Hwy 14 near I-85 is in progress.  The expansion adds nine observational beds and a new unit next to the ER among other things. A total of 55,000 square feet will be added. A new MRI coming to the hospital alleviates the current need to cross the parking lot to the Medical Offices for patients to get an MRI. Extra parking plus roads and infrastructure to access the hospital will be addressed.  50 new jobs in the healthcare field will be created because of the expansion.  The anticipated completion date is in the Spring of 2019.  Scheduled to begin construction this year, Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute will connect to Pelham Medical Center over Westmoreland Road via a glass bridge.  New companies moving, existing companies expanding, Job growth and increasing healthcare availability equal all-around market growth for Greer SC.
