Greer Station is getting a face lift and work begins this
summer! In efforts to create a more
inviting and aesthetically pleasing downtown. Up to $500,000 is expected to be
spent on lighting, resurfacing downtown streets, parking lots and alleyways by
the City of Greer.
The city is granting up to $10,000 for qualifying businesses
in Greer Station. Greer is working in conjunction with the Greenville County
Redevelopment Authority Façade Improvement Program who will grant up to $5,000
per qualifying businesses.
There is a minimum request of $1,000 per business and
applications must be submitted by June 30th, 2018. Funds are disbursed by reimbursement only and
any cost incurred before grant approval will not be honored. Grant funds for eligible projects will be
awarded on a first come first serve basis. Projects must meet certain criteria
such as restoring historic features, new outdoor lighting, masonry repair, and repair
or installation of signage and awnings to name a few. Improvements must also
adhere to the city’s design standards.
If approved, a business with $10,000 of eligible improvement
work can receive $5,000 from the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority Façade
Improvement Program and $5,000 from the City of Greer, making improvements at
no out-of-pocket cost to the business owner. An additional $5,000 from the City of Greer can be awarded to qualifying projects exceeding $10,000.
