Greenville County is Growing FAST

In 2017 the Greenville Area Development Corporation worked with 21 relocating and existing companies to add 1,789 new jobs and attract new capital investment of $335.9 million. Greenville County’s population growth from 2010 to 2016 reflects an increase of 10.5% with the population starting at 451,225 in 2010 and ending 498,766 in 2016.  A large jump in population along with companies opening, relocating or expanding in Greenville County we are growing at an awesome rate.

Driving around town reflects the growth in obvious ways with no small amount of commercial, residential, retail and road construction.  Every time I drive through downtown Greenville there is a new building or new construction site underway (or both) and it is not just the City of Greenville.

Many areas are receiving “face lifts” like Greer Station whose road, parking lot, sidewalk and lighting construction began this week and is planned to wrap up within 5 weeks.  Greer’s population doubled from 2000 to 2016.  Mauldin has doubled their commercial growth from $9.7 million in 2014 to $25.2 million in 2017 and Mauldin’s growing city isn’t slowing down yet.
