SmartAsset placed Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin area No. 2 out of 483 metro areas on the Top 10 Best Places to Work in Manufacturing.  The industry growing an amazing 37.8% from 2014 to 2015 the Upstate manufacturing workers pay grew nearly 15%.  Over 1800 manufacturing companies are in South Carolina’s Upstate, over 400 of those are foreign companies.  The top 10 areas were chosen based on employment growth in manufacturing, income growth in manufacturing, density of manufacturing jobs, and housing costs.
