Michelin North America, based in Greenville, operates 19
major manufacturing plants with 22,700 employees is beginning its second phase
of a $270 million-dollar distribution center project located in Spartanburg
SC. The first phase consisting of 1.1
million square feet split between 2 buildings is nearly complete. The second phase plan calls for 5 new
buildings totaling 2.2 million square feet.
This project will create 350 jobs in our area and once complete will be
one of the largest distribution centers in the country. Construction began in the fall 0f 2017.
Estimated completion is expected by early 2019.
