Greenville's growth prompts new development plan in 2018

Downtown Greenville, SC is ready for a new plan for growth and development. The current plan is ten years old and was focused on creating new districts in lieu of extending main street.  The new plan will be compiled with public input throughout 2018.

A developer for the redevelopment of County Square, one of the 5 ‘gateways’ to Greenville, has been chosen, one step closer to the start of this project. The West End’s warehouse district has some new development in the works to draw businesses plus a huge park is planned to be even larger than Falls Park on the Reedy.  The Broad & River District redevelopment is already underway.

Proposals will be considering and defining many parameters such as building height and location, public green space use and availability, mixed use development opportunities, local and national business attraction, pedestrian accessibility, residential and hospitality development and other evaluations of strengths and weaknesses for our highly desired downtown Greenville.
