Greenville and Anderson are in the direct path of Monday's rare solar eclipse!
On Monday, August 21st, 2017 in Greenville, South Carolina the sun will be completely eclipsed at 2:38 pm EDT for approximately 2 minutes and 10 seconds. The partial phase start of the eclipse will begin at 1:09 pm EDT.
The path of totality flows from Salem SC, to Charleston, SC. Thousands of people are expected to visit the areas in totality to view this amazing event, even folks from other countries! Hundreds of events are planned around these cities and the overbooked area hotels certainly reflect that. Area universities, restaurants, parks, The Greenville Drive and many more venues will host a series of Eclipse Events, some are free! The next solar eclipse path of totality that will be visible in South Carolina will no be until 2078!
